Early Prime Day Deals

Last week, Amazon announced the return of Prime Day, which will run this summer from July 11 through July 12. In anticipation of the big deal event, Amazon is already offering a few early Prime Day deals, mainly focusing on Amazon-branded products like Kindles and Fire TVs.

Like previous years, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member to take part in Prime Day. If you aren’t, you can join Prime and get a free 30-day trial to participate in this year’s Prime Day. Anyone who chooses to keep Prime after the free trial will pay $14.99/month or $139/year; students pay $7.49/month or $69/year.

AirPods

Amazon’s popular discount on the AirPods Pro 2 is still available as we head into July, with the headphones on sale for $199.00, down from $249.00. We’re also now seeing the AirPods Max return to the best price of the year so far at $449.99, down from $549.00.

Robot vacuums are handy little gadgets, but many of the best cost a couple of hundred dollars. If you’ve always wanted one but were turned off by the price, you may want to check out today’s deal on Eufy’s G20 Hybrid. Right now, one of our favorite budget-friendly robot vacuums is on sale for just $129.99 ($150 off) at Amazon.

That’s a new all-time low on the robovac, which does a good job of vacuuming and mopping your home for its price. It’s also the quietest and smallest we’ve ever tested, making it particularly ideal if your living quarters are compact or if you need a second bot to quietly clean while in your home office. Plus, the robovac comes with support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it with just your voice.

There are a few tradeoffs, of course. The robovac lacks smart mapping features and obstacle avoidance, for one thing. It also only runs for 90 minutes, and you can’t buy it with an auto-empty dock. But if you need a good robot vacuum under $150 that’s slim enough to fit under low furniture, you can’t go wrong buying Eufy’s G20 Hybrid.

If you’d like to enjoy some peace and quiet while flying out for summer vacation, both the Bose QuietComfort 45 and the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are on sale today. First up, you can buy the Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones for $279 ($50 off), one of their better prices to date this year, at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. These over-ears are amongst the best, striking an impressive balance of comfort, sound quality, and superb noise cancellation. If you prefer wireless earbuds, however, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II wireless earbuds are $249 ($50 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and direct from Bose. Of all the buds we’ve tested, these offer the most powerful active noise cancellation. They also produce a dynamic, rich sound perfect for listening to music or podcasts on the plane. Those of us who own the M1-powered MacBook Air are probably well aware that while the laptop is fantastic, it suffers from one fatal flaw: its 720p camera is awful. Luckily, Belkin’s MagSafe Continuity Camera offers a cheap solution. Right now, the black version of the Belkin iPhone Mount with MagSafe for Mac Notebooks is currently on sale in black at Amazon for $23.33 ($6 off). You can also buy it for $23.99 in black from Belkin when you use the code 4JULY23.

The little magnetic mount essentially lets you use your MagSafe-equipped iPhone as your webcam. It’s pretty easy to set up — all you need to do is snap the mount onto the phone and rest it on top of your laptop. You can position it in either portrait or landscape mode and even use the built-in hook as a kickstand for your phone when you’re finished making video calls. • You can buy Ultraloq’s U-Bolt Pro WiFi smart lock for $159.99 ($40 off) from Ultraloq directly when you use promo code 23USA20. The lock is one of our favorites, largely because it works well, and you can unlock your door with either your finger, a keypad, key, app, or voice.
• Nomad Goods is selling these 100-watt 3M USB-C Universal cables for $30 ($20 off) when you use the code VERGECABLE at checkout. These cables are made with Kevlar for extra durability and feature both USB-A and Micro USB adapters, so you can charge a wide range of devices. You’ll have to hurry, though, as this deal expires on June 30th.
• The Thermapen One is on sale for $69.97 ($29.98 off) from ThermoWorks. The Thermapen is a helpful instant thermometer that’ll help you determine when something is finished cooking.
• Right now, My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members can buy two Nintendo Switch games and get a third from this list for free. Qualifying titles include the new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as well as the forthcoming Pikmin 4.
• Here’s a deal those of us ’90s kids who were Tamagotchi fans will love: right now, you can buy the Star Wars: R2-D2 Tamagotchi nano for $12.50 ($7.50 off) from Amazon. The Star Wars-themed gadget houses a little virtual R2-D2 you can feed, clean, and play with.

M1 MacBook Air

Starting with the 2020 M1 MacBook Air (256GB), Amazon has all three colors at $799.99, down from $999.00. This matches the previous all-time low price on this version of the MacBook Air, which is a solid option for anyone who needs a computer for basic tasks like checking e-mail and browsing online.

M2 13-Inch MacBook Pro

We’re also tracking deals on the M2 13-inch MacBook Pro right now on Amazon, starting at $1,099.99 for the 256GB model, down from $1,299.00. Amazon has both the Silver and Space Gray available at this price, with delivery as soon as June 30 if you order soon.

You can also get the 512GB model of the M2 13-inch MacBook Pro on sale for $1,299.99, down from $1,499.00. This one is a second-best price, and it’s also available for delivery as soon as June 30 for Prime members.

Starting with the M1 Max notebooks, B&H Photo is offering steep discounts on a pair of high-end configurations. You can get a 14-inch M1 Max MacBook Pro (32-core GPU, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD) for $2,499.00, down from its original price of $4,099.00. It’s only available in Space Gray at this price.

There’s also a 16-inch M1 Max MacBook Pro (32-core GPU, 64GB, 4TB) for $3,199.00 in Silver and Space Gray, down from $4,899.00. Both of these computers are custom high-end configurations of the 2021 MacBook Pro, offering more memory and storage over the stock models that Apple sells.

M2 MacBook Pro

We’re also tracking a few discounts on Apple’s latest MacBook Pro at Amazon and B&H Photo. These markdowns include a return of the best-ever price on the entry-level 10-Core M2 Pro, 512GB 14-inch model at $1,749.00, down from $1,999.00.

You can only get Space Gray at this discounted price, which is a match of the previous all-time low price on this model. As of writing, only B&H Photo is offering the sale on this version of the 14-inch MacBook Pro.

In a rarer discount, we’re also tracking a new sale on the 12-Core M2 Max, 1TB 14-inch MacBook Pro at Amazon. You can get this notebook for $2,849.00, down from $3,099.00. Only Silver is available at this price on Amazon, but B&H Photo has both colors.

In terms of the larger screen model, Amazon also has a few notable discounts on the 16-inch MacBook Pro. You can get the 12-Core M2 Pro, 512GB 16-inch notebook for $2,249.99, down from $2,499.00. This deal is available in both colors and they’re both in stock with delivery estimated for around June 23 to June 26.

Lastly, you can get the 12-Core M2 Pro, 1TB 16-inch MacBook Pro for $2,449.99, down from $2,699.00. Both colors are on sale at this price, and delivery dates for both are still estimated for around June 23.

After what feels like years of “will they / won’t they” speculation, Apple’s long-awaited 15-inch MacBook Air has officially arrived. However, despite having just recently launched, Amazon is already dropping the price of the base model with 8GB of memory, 256GB of storage, an eight-core CPU, and a 10-core GPU to $1,234 in select colors — a $65 discount that beats the preorder price we saw leading up to the laptop’s release earlier this week.

As expected, there isn’t a whole lot that separates Apple’s new 15-incher from the 13-inch M2 model Apple released last year. My colleague Monica Chin put the M2 laptop through its paces over the weekend, and lo and behold, it offers few surprises aside from the extra two inches of screen real estate and a far better speaker array. At 3.3 pounds, it’s a bit heavier than the redesigned 13-inch model, but it offers the same outstanding battery life, a terrific keyboard, and more than enough processing power for the average user to inundate themselves with work docs and burn through the first two seasons of The Witcher before the third hits next month (sigh, RIP to Henry Cavill’s Geralt).

If you’re a macOS Ventura user who doesn’t want to shell out north of $1,000 on a new laptop but could use a better webcam to replace your laptop’s shoddy 720p camera — yes, I’m looking at you, M1 MacBook Air users — there’s the Belkin iPhone Mount with MagSafe for Mac Notebooks. Normally $29.99, it’s currently on sale at Amazon in white for $23.29, which marks its first discount to date.

Terrible name aside, Belkin’s Continuity Camera mount is a pretty handy tool that lets you use the phone you already own to take video calls on your Mac. The simple, well-built device works with any MagSafe-equipped iPhone and most Apple laptops, including both MacBook Air and Pro models dating as far back as 2018 and makes use of Apple’s new Continuity Camera feature. You can rest it on your laptop in either portrait or landscape modes, and once set up, the whole thing is pretty effortless to use. The built-in hook even doubles as a kickstand, just in case you want to prop your phone up on the go.

We wrote yesterday about how both Target and Amazon are offering mix-and-match buy two, get one free deals on select video games, tabletop games, and other items. On top of that, however, it appears Nintendo is running a so-called “Hyper Max Sale” through June 25th that drops the price of select digital games, some of which rarely see discounts. There’s quite a bit on offer, but one of the most notable titles is Metroid Dread, which is currently matching its all-time low of $41.99 ($18 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and the My Nintendo Store.

The moody, atmospheric sidescroller was arguably one of the best Nintendo Switch games of 2021 despite being overshadowed by the likes of Hades and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury — two titles that have nothing on Dread’s frantic boss battles, classic progression system, and expansive arsenal of sci-fi weaponry.

A few additional midweek discounts

• Skullcandy’s Dime 2 earbuds are on sale at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target for $22.99 ($7 off), nearly matching their best price to date. They lack more premium features like noise cancellation and multipoint connectivity, yet they still manage to deliver respectable sound quality and a healthy mix of features (including 3.5 hours of playback per charge and Tile integration) at a price that was pretty much unfathomable just a couple of years ago.
• Anker’s 313 Wireless Charger is on sale at Amazon and Walmart right now for $15.99 ($4 off), nearly matching its all-time low. While slower than a lot of other Qi wireless chargers — it tops out at 10W charging speeds with Samsung Galaxy devices — it’s still an inexpensive, reliable option if you’re someone who typically charges their phone overnight.
• The Google Pixel Watch, our favorite “Fitbit” fitness tracker, is once again available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target in the Wi-Fi-only configuration starting at just $299.99 ($50 off). If you’re not sold on the watch’s sleek design or reliable performance, Google recently announced that it’s rolling out a slate of new features to its first-gen wearable, including blood oxygen tracking and a new auto-pause feature for workouts. • It’s not a deal, per se, but Asus’ ROG Ally is now available at Best Buy for $699.99. Our own Sean Hollister recently gave his original review a refresh in light of some of the recent changes Asus made to the Windows handheld, which, despite still struggling with battery life, remains a powerful gaming machine when paired with a mouse, keyboard, and — yes — a power outlet.

Update June 14th 2:55PM ET: Amazon is now offering an additional $15 off Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Air. We’ve adjusted the price accordingly in both the body copy and headline.

This $49 discount is still the steepest markdown that we’ve seen so far on the brand new notebook. Amazon has the Silver and Midnight colors at this price, with delivery estimates between June 15 and June 19.

There’s also a discount on the 512GB model, which is available for $1,449.99, down from $1,499.00 in select colors on Amazon. The Space Gray option has the same delivery dates as the 256GB models, but the Starlight color has a late June arrival date.
