tvOS 18.5

Apple has released tvOS 18.5, a typical minor update emphasizing quality-of-life improvements, consistent with tvOS’s tendency to prioritize stability over major feature additions between significant releases.

This update focuses on enhancing performance and fixing bugs, ensuring the Apple TV and HomePod devices run smoothly and that prior features function optimally.

While tvOS 18.5 lacks standout changes, the preceding tvOS 18.4 introduced notable features like Matter support for robotic vacuums and lossless, ultra-low latency audio for AirPods Max.

Both tvOS and HomePod Software share build number 22L572.

MacDailyNews Note: To update to tvOS 18.5 on Apple TV, navigate to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software. For HomePod or HomePod mini, ensure your iOS, iPadOS, or macOS device is updated, then open the Home app, tap the More Options icon, select Home Settings > Software Update, and tap Update if available.
