On Sunday, at Apple Fifth Avenue, fans were treated to a surprise star-sighting with Brad Pitt from the highly anticipated Apple Original Film “F1 The Movie.” The film opens globally in theaters and in IMAX in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures on June 27th.

In a packed house at Apple’s New York City flagship store, Apple CEO Tim Cook welcomed Pitt, and the actor greeted the ecstatic fans by sharing how “excited” he is for audiences to see “F1 The Movie,” as it is the “most visceral racing film ever made.” Cook highlighted that this is a must-see film for all, while also spotlighting the Apple iPhone camera technology utilized in the film, reinforcing that “it was important for us to be authentic to the sport and really capture that immersive feeling of being in the car.” The captivating “F1 the Movie” trailer, featuring the film’s spectacular, immersive experience that puts viewers directly on the track, played as the event ended.

Pitt and Cook’s surprise appearance followed a lively panel discussion with “Severance” stars and executive producers Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette and Britt Lower, alongside cast members Tramell Tillman, Dichen Lachman and Jen Tullock. The panel was moderated by Entertainment Tonight host Nischelle Turner.

From Apple Original Films and the filmmakers from “Top Gun: Maverick” comes the high-octane, action-packed feature film “F1 The Movie,” directed by Joseph Kosinski. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, famed FORMULA 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Chad Oman.

Dubbed “the greatest that never was,” Sonny Hayes (Pitt) was FORMULA 1’s most promising phenom of the 1990s until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when he’s approached by his former teammate Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team that is on the verge of collapse. Ruben convinces Sonny to come back to FORMULA 1 for one last shot at saving the team and being the best in the world. He’ll drive alongside Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), the team’s hotshot rookie intent on setting his own pace. But as the engines roar, Sonny’s past catches up with him and he finds that in FORMULA 1, your teammate is your fiercest competition — and the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone. The film also stars Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies and Kim Bodnia, and was shot during actual Grand Prix weekends.
In “Severance,” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself. In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe. The complete first and second seasons of “Severance” are now streaming globally on Apple TV+.

“Severance” is executive produced by Ben Stiller, who also directs five episodes this season in addition to directors Uta Briesewitz, Sam Donovan and Jessica Lee Gagné. The series is written, created and executive produced by Dan Erickson. “Severance” season two is also executive produced by John Lesher, Jackie Cohn, Mark Friedman, Beau Willimon, Jordan Tappis, Donovan, Caroline Baron, Richard Schwartz and Nicholas Weinstock. In addition to starring, Scott and Patricia Arquette serve as executive producers. Fifth Season is the studio.

Season one of “Severance” received worldwide acclaim from fans and critics alike, as the AFI Awards winner landed 14 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (Stiller), Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Scott) and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. The series took home awards for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series and Outstanding Main Title Design. The series also earned two Writers Guild of America Awards for Best New Series and Best Drama Series, as well as two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations and a nomination for the Producers Guild and Directors Guild Awards.

Momentum around the Apple Original Films slate continues to grow since the debut of Apple TV+. In addition to Apple making history as the first streaming service to land the Academy Award for Best Picture with “CODA,” Apple Original Film “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse” also earned the Academy Award for Best Animated Short, and “Killers of the Flower Moon” landed 10 historic Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Apple TV+ recently premiered worldwide streaming hits “The Gorge,” starring Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, “Wolfs,” starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, and “The Instigators,” starring Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, as well as Academy Award-winning director Steve McQueen’s “Blitz.” Highly anticipated Apple Original Films include “F1 The Movie,” starring Brad Pitt from director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, premiering in theaters on June 27, 2025; “Echo Valley,” the upcoming thriller from BAFTA Award-winner Michael Pearce starring Academy Award-winner Julianne Moore and multi-Emmy Award nominee Sydney Sweeney, which premiered globally on Apple TV+ on June 13, 2025; and “Highest 2 Lowest,” the latest film reuniting Spike Lee with Denzel Washington for the fifth time, premiering in theaters on August 22 and on Apple TV+ on September 5.

Apple TV+ offers premium, compelling drama and comedy series, feature films, groundbreaking documentaries, kids and family entertainment, and is available to watch across all your favorite screens. After its launch on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ became the first all-original streaming service to launch around the world, and has premiered more original hits and received more award recognitions faster than any other streaming service in its debut.
