Apple today shared its annual holiday season ad, titled A Critter Carol, as well as a behind-the-scenes video showing how it was made.

In the short film, a group of woodland creatures use a lost iPhone 17 Pro to film themselves singing about the gift of friendship. Later, the owner of the iPhone finds it by using the Find My app's Precision Finding feature on his Apple Watch.

The behind-the-scenes video shows how the ad was handcrafted by puppeteers. The ad itself was shot on the iPhone 17 Pro, according to Apple, although there is fine print indicating that additional hardware and software was used.

Apple says the short film was inspired by the song Friends, by Flight of The Conchords.

The ad was released on U.S. Thanksgiving.
