Friday night at the Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada, Apple Original Films celebrated the world premiere of the high stakes thriller “The Lost Bus,” directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Greengrass and starring Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey and Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award winner America Ferrera. The compelling drama will debut in select theaters on Friday, September 19, 2025 and will premiere globally on Friday, October 3, 2025 on Apple TV+.

Writer/director Greengrass and stars McConaughey and Ferrera celebrated “The Lost Bus” at the premiere event alongside supporting cast members Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson, Levi McConaughey and Kay McConaughey, as well as writer/producer Brad Ingelsby, and producers Jamie Lee Curtis, Jason Blum and Gregory Goodman. Kevin McKay, Mary Ludwig, Shaun McKay, John Messina and Ruby Hartwig, who inspired characters in the film, were also in attendance.

Directed by Greengrass and inspired by real events, “The Lost Bus” is a white-knuckle ride through one of America’s deadliest wildfires, as a wayward school bus driver (McConaughey) and a dedicated school teacher (Ferrera) battle to save 22 children from the terrifying inferno.

Written by Greengrass and Brad Ingelsby, who also serve as producers, “The Lost Bus” is produced by Gregory Goodman, Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions, and Jamie Lee Curtis for Comet Pictures. The film is executive produced by Amy Lord and Lizzie Johnson, author of “‘Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire.’” In addition to McConaughey and Ferrera, Yul Vazquez, Ashlie Atkinson and Spencer Watson also star in the film.
