Apple has pushed out the third public beta of macOS Tahoe 26.3 to participants in its Apple Beta Software Program. The update follows closely on the heels of the third developer beta, which was made available one day earlier on January 26.
Public beta testers who have enrolled their compatible Macs through Apple’s beta software website can now download and install the new build via the Software Update section in System Settings. As with previous betas in the 26.3 cycle, no major new features or significant changes have been reported in this release. Apple has not detailed specific bug fixes, performance improvements, or enhancements in public announcements for this beta, and early reports indicate it primarily focuses on stability refinements and under-the-hood polishing ahead of a final release.
macOS Tahoe (version 26), originally launched in September 2025 as the successor to macOS Sequoia, introduced a major user interface overhaul centered on the “Liquid Glass” design language, aligning it with iOS 26 and iPadOS 26. The 26.3 update is expected to be a relatively minor release, likely addressing lingering issues from the initial Tahoe rollout, including user feedback on aspects like transparency effects in accessibility features and general performance on supported hardware.
The beta cycle for 26.3 has progressed steadily since late 2025, with the first public beta arriving in December and subsequent builds rolling out in January. Given Apple’s typical patterns for .x point releases, the final version of macOS Tahoe 26.3 is anticipated by the end of January 2026 or shortly thereafter, potentially arriving as soon as next week if the beta process concludes quickly.
Developers and public testers are encouraged to provide feedback through the Feedback Assistant app to help refine the update before it reaches all users. macOS Tahoe 26.3 remains compatible with the same Mac models supported by the initial Tahoe release, including select Intel-based systems and all Apple silicon devices.
