Apple has fully acquired the rights to its hit Apple TV series "Severance," bringing future seasons and content in-house under Apple Studios, Deadline reports. Apple is said to have acquired the intellectual property and all rights to Severance from Fifth Season in a deal valued at just under $70 million. The move transitions the series from an externally produced show to a fully in-house Apple Studios production, with Fifth Season remaining attached as an executive producer going forward. The change mirrors Apple's earlier move to bring the sci-fi series "Silo" under Apple Studios after its…
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has sent a letter to Apple regarding allegations of political bias in its Apple News curation. A study released this month by the Media Research Center, a conservative media watchdog group, has found that Apple News featured a significant number of articles from left-leaning outlets in its top stories during January 2026, while including zero from right-leaning sources. The group examined 620 stories that appeared in high-traffic morning slots on Apple News from January 1 to January 31st. 440 of those stories came from outlets rated as left-leaning (such as The Washington Post, Associated Press, NBC News, The Guardian, The New York Times, NPR, and others), while the remaining 180 came from centrist outlets…
Domestic robots have been a fixture in science fiction novels for more than a century, but in the real world we’re still all doing our own domestic chores barring vacuuming. Macworld For the past decade, my Apple Time Capsule has faithfully backed up my Mac. I’ve been through several upgrades over the past decade—my current machine is an M3 Max MacBook Pro—and I’ve never had an issue with my Time Capsule. It’s been one of the most reliable devices I’ve ever owned, and I’ve barely had to even think about it since I bought it in 2016. Until recently, that is. I was hoping it would fix the lingering issues I had with Spotlight, but otherwise didn’t think much of it until I got a message from Time Machine telling me my…
