Former “Deadwood” actor Brent Sexton is suing Apple Studios, alleging the company rescinded an offer to have him star in a new series because he declined to take the coronavirus vaccine due to medical reasons, costing him nearly $600,000. Apple Park in Cupertino, California : Sexton’s Los Angeles Superior Court disability discrimination suit seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages. Apple corporate and retail store employees were not required to be vaccinated against the coronavirus if they underwent required testing, but Apple Studios “trampled the rights” of those who worked for the Los Angeles- based subsidiary that produces content for Apple’s new streaming service, Apple TV+, the suit states. Macworld With M2 MacBooks for sale and M3 models on the way, it’s easy to overlook the M1 MacBook Air. But you shouldn’t when it’s this cheap: Amazon is selling the M1 MacBook Air for $799, a savings of $200 and matching the lowest price we’ve ever seen. The MacBook Air has Apple’s first M1 processor with just seven GPU cores, but it’s still a very capable machine. In our review, we called its performance “shocking,” and our opinion hasn’t changed more than two years later. We’re not sure how…

The conference is typically where Apple unveils the next versions of its many operating systems, and we’re expecting the same marathon of updates this year, too. Expect new features in macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS — plus the likely announcement of a new operating system designed for VR devices. Alongside all of that,…
Macworld The 2024 iPhones, by all accounts, will feature their largest ever screens… although the amount they’re going to expand by remains a point of dispute. After four generations in a row with the Pro and Pro Max at 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches respectively, Apple is finally going to bump them to 6.3 and 6.9 inches (according to Ross Young) or “slightly larger” than the existing models (according to Ming-Chi Kuo). The odd thing, however, is that the larger screens appear to be merely a side effect of the company’s real aim. If a new report is correct, Apple is only making the screen (and therefore the chassis) bigger so that it can fit in better cameras. Initially the…
