Macworld Until March 2022 Apple sold two sizes of its iMac desktop computer. The smaller model was more suited to home users due to its less powerful processor, while the larger 27-inch model, with more speed and higher-end features, was meant to be powerful enough for more demanding users. When Apple introduced the 24-inch iMac in 2021 with a colorful redesign and M1 chip, it was the beginning of the end for the high-end version. First Apple discontinued the iMac Pro, and a year later introduced the Mac Studio with the 27-inch Studio Display in March 2022 and discontinued the 27-inch iMac at the same time. But the story doesn’t end there. Ever since it was retired, there have been…

Update: Integration with the Apple TV “Up Next” queue appears to be supported but is not working for many users right now. Hopefully, this is a server-side bug that the company is working to address. As expected, HBO Max has officially rebranded to just “Max,” following Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement last month. The service ditches the iconic HBO name and pulls in content from HBO Max and Discovery+, creating a unified “Max” app that replaces the previous standalone apps. The bill was signed into law by Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte last week, and would impose a fine of $10,000 per day on TikTok or app stores for making the app available to personal devices in the state starting on January 1, 2024. The Montana law addresses growing criticism of TikTok over its ties to the Chinese Communist Party through its parent company, ByteDance. Many U.S. officials have expressed fears that the Chinese government could potentially access American citizens’ data via TikTok for spying purposes. CNN: TikTok alleges that the ban…
Macworld Apple introduced the redesigned iMac with a new colorful design and M1 chip at its Spring Loaded event back in April 2021. Now we have passed the two-year anniversary of the new-look iMac, we’re hoping Apple will update it sometime in 2023 with a new chip – which would be fitting with this year marking 25 since Apple introduced the original G3 iMac – but the wait could be even longer.   Apple is well into the launch of the second generation of Apple silicon, with the M2 arriving in June 2022 and the M2 Pro and M2 Max coming in January. That makes the 24-inch iMac one of the few remaining M1 Macs. Can we expect Apple to…
