Apple today announced financial results for its second fiscal quarter of 2023, which corresponds to the first calendar quarter of the year. For the quarter, Apple posted revenue of $94.8 billion and net quarterly profit of $24.1 billion, or $1.52 per diluted share, compared to revenue of $97.3 billion and net quarterly profit of $25.0 billion, or $1.52 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Talks between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) broke down, leading to a strike starting on Tuesday, an action that will likely disrupt Apple TV+ and other streaming services’ productions.
