In Ars Technica’s Samuel Axon’s testing, Apple’s Vision Pro visionOS eye tracking was “perfectly accurate and responsive.” “There’s nothing to criticize,” Axon writes. “Apple has nailed the interface.” Samuel Axon for Ars Technica: Vision Pro’s interface is all about eye tracking. Whenever you look at a UI element (like an X to close a window or a photo within a gallery in the Photos app), it is subtly highlighted in your view. To actually make a selection—to click, if you will—you simply tap two of your fingers together. You don’t have to hold your hand in front of the headset to do this; as long as your hand is not hidden completely behind you, it can be pretty much anywhere.…

Screen for one, please. | Photo by Vjeran Pavic / The Verge Vision Pro is all about the ‘experience’ as you watch videos, FaceTime family, and get work done. But that experience looks awfully isolating. The year is 2025. I’m sitting on the couch next to my husband, who appears in my field of vision whenever we talk to each other. When we aren’t talking, he fades out of view so I can focus my attention on the screens in front of me. I’m editing a presentation for work, FaceTiming with my family across the country, learning Spanish, and watching cooking demos on YouTube at the same time. I get a notification — it’s time for my daily meditation. The…

Personal Voice is available in the initial ‌iOS 17‌ beta, so developers can begin testing it right away. It can be found under Accessibility > Personal Voice. Creating a Personal Voice is process that takes around an hour. Recording requires a quiet place with little to…
Image: Apple Hideo Kojima made a brief but interesting appearance during WWDC 2023, as Apple highlighted the power of its latest M2 chips and a new game mode in macOS Sonoma. Kojima’s appearance at WWDC 2023 might tease that he’ll have some role to play during the Summer Game Fest event that kicks off later this week. Death Stranding Director’s Cut might make an appearance during the presentation as…
