Apple’s “My Photo Stream” is shutting down on July 26, 2023. My Photo Stream was Apple’s first attempt at allowing users to sync photos across all of their devices linked to a single iCloud account. Originally named “Photo Stream,” unveiled at WWDC on June 6, 2011 and released to the public with iOS 5 on October 12, 2011 (six days after Steve Jobs’ death on October 5th), the service came along with the basic iCloud service which allows users to store the most recent 1,000 photos on the iCloud servers for up to 30 days free of charge. As part of this transition, new photo uploads to My Photo Stream from your devices will stop one month before, on June…
Macworld June was a very good month for the Mac. Not only did we get to see the next version of macOS in Sonoma, but we also got a new 15-inch MacBook Air that’ll be a hit, a Mac Studio update, the M2 Ultra chip, and to top it all off, we finally got a new Apple silicon Mac Pro. Based on projected chip production schedules and the current state of the Mac lineup, it’s very possible that the only Mac news we’re going to get between now and the first few months of 2024 is the release of…

Popular third-party Reddit app Apollo was updated today with an option for users to decline a refund for their remaining subscription time ahead of the app shutting down. Users who do not exercise this option will automatically receive a pro-rated refund. "If you've been happy with the service I've provided over the years, please consider declining the refund as they are refunded out-of-pocket," said Apollo developer Christian Selig, who previously estimated that the refunds could cost him around $250,000. "It's been the pleasure of a lifetime building Apollo for you over the last nine years. I thank you so much for your kindness, input, and generosity over the years." Starting on July 1, Reddit plans to begin charging for its…
Macworld Apple’s 9th-gen iPad doesn’t have a Liquid Retina display or Magic Keyboard support, but it’s still an excellent tablet for $329. But it’s even better at today’s all-time-low price: Amazon is selling the 64GB iPad in either silver or space gray for $250, a savings of $79 and matching the best price we’ve ever seen. You can also get the step-up model with 256GB of storage for $399. The 9th-gen iPad has a 10.2-inch True Tone display, an A13 Bionic processor, and a 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage support. It’s the only remaining iPad to feature Apple’s classic design with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the Home button and we don’t know how long Apple…
