Macworld Apple’s 9th-gen iPad doesn’t have a Liquid Retina display or Magic Keyboard support, but it’s still an excellent tablet for $329. But it’s even better at today’s all-time-low price: Amazon is selling the 64GB iPad for $250, a savings of $79 and matching the best price we’ve ever seen for this model. You can also get the step-up model with 256GB of storage for $399. The 9th-gen iPad has a 10.2-inch True Tone display, an A13 Bionic processor, and a 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage support. It’s the only remaining iPad to feature Apple’s classic design with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the Home button and we don’t know how long Apple plans to keep…
Apple’s MacBooks remain the primary driver of its computer sales, according to a new report from CIRP. The research firm found that MacBook Air and MacBook Pro made up 77% of the company’s computer sales in the 12 months ending March 2023. This is an increase of 3% from last fall. The report also found that the most popular Mac is the MacBook Air, which accounted for 46% of sales. The MacBook Pro was the second most popular Mac, with 29% of sales. The desktop models, including the iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro, accounted for the remaining 23% of sales. Macworld While Apple is dragging its feet on launching its long-rumored hardware subscription service, Best Buy has been quietly filling the void. After announcing its Upgrade+ program for the Mac last year, it has now expanded it to include the iPad Pro and Apple Watch Ultra—and it’s a pretty compelling offer. If you buy an Apple Watch Ultra or 11-inch iPad Pro, both of which normally retail for $799, you can instead pay $17.32 a month for 36 months, or a total of $623.52. At the end of the three years of payments, you’ll have the option to pay off the remaining $175.48 and keep the device; alternatively, you can turn it in, upgrade to the latest model, and reset…
Macworld Apple’s Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, announced at WWDC earlier this month, is still a long way from launch: the company has said only that it will become available in the U.S. at some point in 2024, with unnamed countries to follow later that year. But it looks like the first hardware element of the Vision Pro launch could appear as soon as this fall. According to the prolific and widely respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15, expected to launch in fall 2023, is likely to feature an upgraded ultra wideband (UWB) chip designed to ensure seamless integration with Vision Pro. Apple introduced the U1 chip in 2019 with the iPhone 11 and has subsequently included it in all…
