Best Buy today announced it has expanded its Upgrade+ program to include the iPad Pro and Apple Watch Ultra. Launched in October in partnership with Apple, the program provides interest-free monthly financing via Citizens Bank for select Apple products purchased from Best Buy in the U.S., similar to Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program. The program is also available for the latest models of the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Studio, and Mac mini, including the new 15-inch MacBook Air. The monthly payments are spread across three years. After 36 months, customers who purchase an eligible iPad Pro, Apple Watch Ultra, or Mac have the options of upgrading to a newer device, paying off the remaining balance of the purchase in…
In iOS 17, Apple has made a small but notable change to the App Store app so that it now tells users how long an app download will take once it's started. When the "Get" app button is tapped in an app listing and the circular download symbol appears, the time remaining for the download to complete is displayed beside it in minutes and seconds. If the installation is likely to take only a brief moment, the time remaining is not shown. Obviously the time it takes for a given app to download will depend on the user's internet speed and the app's file size, which is why users might only see how long it will take once the download…
Macworld Apple introduced the redesigned iMac with a new colorful design and M1 chip at its Spring Loaded event back in April 2021. Now we have passed the two-year anniversary of the new-look iMac, we’re hoping Apple will update it sometime in 2023 with a new chip – which would be fitting with this year marking 25 since Apple introduced the original G3 iMac – but the wait could be even longer.   Apple is well into the launch of the second generation of Apple silicon, with the M2 arriving in June 2022 and the M2 Pro and M2 Max coming in January 2023. That makes the 24-inch iMac one of the few remaining M1 Macs. Can we expect Apple…

Macworld Apple is often accused of charging too much money for its products, but some of the company’s most momentous releases are free. Such as the annual major software updates for the iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch, which unlock a raft of new features at no extra expense. This year, in fact, the watchOS 10 software update (cost: $0) is expected to be considerably more significant than this year’s new hardware. The Apple Watch Series 9 (likely cost: $399 and upwards) has been labeled “anything but major,” whereas the new OS is expected to bring “bigger enhancements, including an updated interface.” This article is our watchOS 10 deep dive, sifting through the leaks and rumors to bring you the…
Macworld June is always a big month for Apple enthusiasts. WWDC always starts off the month with a look at all the new operating system updates coming to your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV in the fall, and developers get an early beta version right away. The unveiling of iOS 17, macOS 14, and watchOS 10 would be exciting enough, but Apple also often releases new products at WWDC, and this year we expect a new 15-inch Macbook Air. We might see updates to the Mac Studio as well and perhaps even, finally, a peek at the Mac Pro powered by Apple Silicon. This year is expected to be a WWDC for the history books, though. Just…
