Macworld Apple today introduced the new M2 Ultra processor as it completed its Apple silicon transition with the launch of the new Mac Pro. The Mac Pro has the same design as the previous model with a stainless-steel frame and “cheese grater” aesthetic. But inside, the Mac Pro is all new, with a 24-core CPU/76-core GPU M2 Ultra processor and twice the starting memory and storage as the Intel model. It’s configurable up to 192GB of RAM and has six open gen 4 expansion slots for audio/video, networking, and storage cards. As expected, the Mac Pro doesn’t support user-upgradeable RAM or graphics. The Mac Pro also has the performance of seven Afterburner cards built in, which previously added $2,000 to…
It’s finally happening. Apple is bringing back the Mac Pro with new chips designed for 2023. It’s the first big update to the Mac Pro in four years, and it completes Apple’s transition to its own Arm-powered Silicon. The new Mac Pro model will be available starting June 13th for $6,999. The new Mac Pro looks the same as the old Intel version with the cheese grater metal front, but there are some major changes on the inside. The Mac Pro will come with Apple’s M2 Ultra chip, as well as six open PCIe Gen 4 slots for expansion, and offer eight built-in Thunderbolt ports. It can be configured with up to a 76-core GPU and 192GB of memory. With…

Like the 13-inch model there is 500 nits brightness, a 1080p camera and more. The chip is still the M2. BAttery life is 18 hours. And it will cost $1,299. We call it Apple Breakfast because we think it goes great with a Monday morning cup of coffee or tea, but it’s cool if you want to give it a read during lunch or dinner hours too. Apple’s fourth revolution A week before the Macworld San Francisco keynote kicked off on January 9, 2007, Apple updated its website on New Year’s Day with a cryptic message that read, “The first 30 years were just the beginning. Welcome to 2007,” an obvious tease for the expo. But until Steve Jobs took the stage and said, “Every once in…
Macworld While the higher-end MacBooks with M1 Pro and M2 Pro and M1 Max and M2 Max chips support multiple external displays, Apple’s lower-end range of MacBooks that use a standard M1 or M2 processor cannot natively connect more than one external monitor. This is a massive limitation compared to the previous Intel-based generation of Mac laptops that could run two displays when connected to a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 docking station or hub that we hope will be rectified with the M3. Here are the external display specs for Apple’s current laptops: M1 MacBook Air: Maximum one external display M2 MacBook Air: Maximum one external display M2 MacBook Pro: Maximum one external display M2 Pro MacBook Pro: Maximum two…
