On Monday, Apple will take the stage at its 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference to talk about FaceTime and Apple Books and all the other cool built-in stuff you’ll be able to do with its ski goggles strapped to your face. But if it can’t get third-party developers on board, and those developers don’t figure out how to build life-changingly great stuff for those goggles, the Reality Pro (or whatever it’s called) doesn’t stand a chance. Apple knows this better than anyone, of course. The iPhone took off when apps like Instagram and Uber showed what you…
Macworld I recently squawked about how the Mac has taken a back seat at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, and as a fan of the Mac, I wish Apple would do more Mac stuff. Apparently, my prayers have been answered! According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, “several new Macs” will be one of the “three major focus areas” at the WWDC keynote on June 5. Several? Macworld While the buzz leading up to Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference is mostly about the Reality Pro headset, Apple could make a few Mac announcements that will be very interesting. Apple will start accepting trade-ins of the Mac Studio, 13-inch M2 MacBook Air and 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro on June 5th, the…

Loud noises above 120dB, meanwhile, like a siren or firecracker, can cause immediate harm to your hearing. In other words, your ears are delicate, and you need to look after them. This applies to listening to music and podcasts through your smartphone, too. Bear in mind that the amount of time you’re listening for makes a difference as well as the volume level you’re listening at. Fortunately for your hearing, a large proportion of today’s cellphones come…
