Macworld When the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro arrive this fall, they will bring a slew of upgrades, including better cameras, refined designs, and a switch to USB-C. But if the latest rumors are true, the biggest reason to upgrade from an iPhone 12, 13, or even a newer iPhone 14 will be battery life. According to a Weibo report from an alleged Foxconn source (via IT News), every model of the iPhone 15 will have a bigger battery when they launch in September. That’s not a huge surprise, as Apple often increases the size of the battery year over year, but this year’s bump is much bigger than usual: iPhone 15: 3,877mAh iPhone 15 Plus: 4,912mAh iPhone 15 Pro: 3,650mAh iPhone…

Macworld Good news for prospective buyers of the M2-based 13-inch MacBook Air: the machine, which was specced with support for Bluetooth 5.0 when it was released in July 2022, has been retrospectively bumped up to Bluetooth 5.3. MacRumors noticed that the wireless section of the device’s tech specs page now contains a reference to Bluetooth 5.3, matching the specs of the newer 15-inch MacBook Air. The site also noticed that this section still reads “Wi-Fi 6” for both sizes of Air, even though other new Macs have been upgraded with Wi-Fi 6E support. The 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 that was launched at the same time still offers only Bluetooth 5.0, according to the tech specs listed for that machine.…

Macworld When Apple launched iOS 15 back in 2021, the updated software included a new feature in Photos called Visual Look Up. This neat AI-powered tool can recognize animals, plants, and landmarks in your photos, and provide information about them when tapped. Here’s how it works: When you open a picture of some greenery in Photos, for example, you’ll notice a couple of small stars next to the information icon in the bottom bar, which means iOS has spotted something it recognizes. Tap the icon and you’ll quickly be told that the nearest tree is probably a European ash. Very handy, albeit within a relatively small number of spheres.
